The Global Footwear Executive Summit (GFES) event was scheduled in Hong Kong on Tuesday, 12 March 2019. The event provided knowledge and insights from industry experts on topics such as Global Footwear Retail, Sourcing, Production and Design & Development. These subjects not only focused on the retail of footwear, but they considered the entire footwear supply chain. The panels were intended to encourage interactive and constructive discussions between industry experts and the audience.

Andrey Golub, CTO of ATOMLab Milan, presented “The 5 Eras of Product Style Customization”, a road map of how the retail industry has changed over the years. The presentation highlights the eras from exclusive ateliers to the now digital age, which is in response to the demand of empowered consumers through 3D commerce and virtual experiences. The presentation also predicts the retail process' next frontier of optimizing artificial intelligence and driving consumer experiences. Additionally, there was an emphasis on the extensive impact to the entire fashion retail channel and a response to the raising values of new consumers, such as Circular Economy, ethics and sustainability.
