The role of ELSE Corp is to act as a bridge to the retail industry, verifying how the BodyPass ecosystem can be available and easily used by retail companies and tech providers, testing in different set of pilot scenarios and trials, how the data comes from the consumer, passes through BodyPass ecosystem, and gets transformed to make it available via APIs.
Each manufacturer has their own sizing charts with information interpreted according to their own production and economic values and constraints. A wider array of brand-specific fit and sizing, leaves individuals unable to find clothing which meets their needs.
Current approaches to gather customer measurements employ different 3D scanning technologies together with statistical and biometrical analysis.
These approaches are advanced enough to represent human’s feet accurately as a 3D model, as well as providing relatively precise meta data and the relevant measurements to produce made to measure footwear. However, they fall short as they do not consider the unique properties of the product itself and how they react with the nuances of each individual foot.
ELSE Corp is working on an Individual Fitting method commercially known as MySize.shoes, that in addition to using the currently diffused approaches, employs manufacturer's 3D CAD data analysis and individual Customer Feedback connecting an algorithmic simulation with the real-life experiences.
THE IMPORTANCE OF 3D DATA IN
3 MAIN SCENARIOS
MANUFACTURING
Also called Industrial Made to Measure: To enable companies to produce garments which are almost made to measure but still manufactured in an industrial way. This allows individual fitting by finding the most suitable items for the consumer.
DESIGN
To help brands and designers to create new collections by being oriented to the concrete avatars, group of people and target markets.
MARKETING
&
OPERATIONS
Reliable 3D data allows the better segmentation and understanding of specific markets. The information can be used to take more accurate decisions regarding brand positioning and distribution channels.

SIZE SPAN
MTM FITTING
In both schemes BodyPass has been helpful due to the to process of raw scan’s data, building a high quality avatar template by eliminating any artifacts and scan defects. It is important to mention that for every case BodyPass replaces the client’s face with general mask for privacy preserving.
SIZE SPAN
In the scenario of size span, BodyPass provides features and information that ELSE Corp can propose to clients. The process starts from analysis of the projected garment properties before implementing a size grading technique. At the beginning, the fabric and pattern construction features (specially tolerances applied to pattern making and fabric elasticity) are analyzed by simulation algorithms to estimate and optimize the size span implemented to a specific population.
Basic body and standard fit of a shirt for which a size span have to be created.
MTM FITTING
BodyPass helps to process single scans, generating individual template avatars that can be shared with designers and manufacturers without disclosing the identity of a client. The automatic style recommendation is done according to anthropometric data of individual body. Few basic measurements can digitally describe body type.
AI algorithms analyses all metrics of the avatar and set obvious limitations to the style recommendations according to the automatically estimated body type.
The client gets the scan. The raw scan data, after the BodyPass processing, changes in a personal 3D static mannequin template. The mannequin template is utilized to create the own digital body model which is able to move as a normal person. ELSE Corp uses this model for digital fitting and all kind of visualisations. The customer can see all the main defects in real time and together with the staff correct fitting and style concerns, archiving a perfect fit in minutes.
